This was my 4th years participating in the festival and I always have so much fun. I did my Bellydance Demo from 1-2pm today and had a good size crowd. The Festival was very busy today and there was so much to see. After I was done, I looked at all the amazing booths and visited my friend in “Poland”. I met him filming the International Festival commercial. At 3pm the Lost Nomads performed and I got to dance a bit again and ended up teaching more kids bellydance. They were great.

It was alot of fun. We all met at Babylon in Downtown Raleigh. There was also a Flamenco dancer and some wonderful musicians playing Spanish Guitar. There were others there representing their countries and culture. Afterwards we took a couple photos outside. This will be my 4th year performing at the International Festival and it is always so much fun. I will be at the Dance Demo stage on Saturday from 1-2 pm and Sunday from 12:30-1 giving Bellydance demos. I will also be do a shimmy contest again this year and the winner gets a coinscarf!!! Lost Nomads will be performing some live Middle Eastern Music from 3-4 pm on Saturday so stick around for that too!!

The crowd was lighter, but I still managed to get some people up dancing for my demo. Afterwards, I headed over to see the Lost Nomads. They sounded fabulous!! Even got to get up and dance and got a couple kids up dancing too.

When we arrived at the stage it was pretty empty, as the performers before us canceled. I got out my veil and danced some in front of the Demo Stage area to try and draw a crowd. People passing by wanted photos and I was happy to pose! By the time, my demo started we had a nice enthusiastic crowd. They worked hard and one lucky lady won a coin scarf during the Shimmy contest.
