Amara occasional donates her time and talent in the local community to bring Middle Eastern Dance to others through performance and mini lessons.
Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina
Boys and Girls home of NC Inc. is dedicated to providing a comprehensive array of residential and community -bases services to meet the needs of vulnerable children by addressing their physical, emotional, social, educational, and spiritual development. All the proceeds from ‘The Call of the Drums Benefit 2014′ went directly to this organization.

Pet Friends of Duplin County was formed by a small group of county residents who care about companion pets and people. We are continually being joined by a growing number of Duplin citizens who share our vision. The human-animal bond is as old as recorded history. We cherish our animal companions for their unconditional affection and acceptance. All the proceeds from ‘The Call of the Drums Benefit 2013′ went directly to this organization.
PHP of NC, Inc
PHP stands for ‘People helping people.’ They are located in Durham and serve special needs individuals by offering day programs in a learning environment and work opportunities. For Cultural Diversity Day, I gave a mini performance and lesson to everyone! They had so much fun!
Festival for the Eno
In 2010 and 2011, I performed as a guest dancer with the Moorish Gypsy Tribe. In 2012 and 2013 I performed as part of the ‘Triangle Bellydancers’ along with live music by local Middle Eastern musicians: the Lost Nomads. The Festival for the Eno is produced by the Eno River Association. All proceeds go to preserve the environmental and cultural resources of the Eno River Valley.
Raising the Stars
In September of 2008 I performed at a fundraiser for Matthew Baldwin. This was very close to me, as this little boy is the son of a friend of mine. He was involved in a lawn mower accident and lost part of his leg. They have set up a foundation in his name to help raise awareness for lawn mower safety for kids.

Youthville USA
Youthville, USA helps recruit, train, and license foster parents. They offer children and foster families a wide variety of support and services. I performed at a special dinner in honor of all the foster mothers for Mothers Day celebration.
Race for the Cure
In Spring of 2008, she helped organize a team for the Race for the Cure, which is held every year in June, in Raleigh. She helped organize a local show at XIOS Greek Restaurant, where donations were collected and all proceeds went the Susan G Comen foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
