Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market will be Celebrating Grandma Sassool’s Birthday and our Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday August 9th!
Mounir Saleh recently celebrated Mother’s Day on May 11 by renaming Neomonde’s Strickland Road location to Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market in honor of his mother, Cecilia. Cecilia was given the nickname Sassool by her father, as a child growing up in Lebanon.
To celebrate Cecilia’s upcoming August birthday, Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market is hosting a birthday bash and grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, August 9. A portion of the day’s restaurant sales will go to Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast in honor of Cecilia who is a breast cancer survivor.

11am: Ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a birthday celebration and cake cutting for Cecilia.
11am-4pm: Block party in front of Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market including a martial arts demonstration by Tiger’s Den, face painting by Revonne Carter, magic by Magic Roman, a bounce house, North Carolina beer samples from Double Barley Brewing, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast booth, music by DJ Pancakes and food samples from Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market.
11:30am-1:30pm: Live jazz music by Diogenes Ruiz and dessert sampling by Angel’s Bakery.
5:30-8:30pm: Indoor festivities including wine sampling by Ararat Imports, music by the Lost Nomads, belly dancing, gluten-free dessert samples from JP’s Cupcakery, and food specials from Sassool Cafe, Bakery & Market.
